The mission of Cadeau Vert is to promote public wellbeing through environmental initiatives.
The Birth of School Replanting Program (SRP)
On October 17th, 2003, the Collège Universitaire de Christianville launched a day of replanting in the mountains of Petit-Boucan in the community of Gressier, Haiti. We called it "Journée Verte" meaning "Green Day.” We solicited everyone's participation in the area: churches, students from surrounding schools, and community members. Our “Green Day” was a triumphant success, thanks to God and the collaborative spirit of our community. Since then, replanting took its place in that community and in our hearts.
Cadeau Vert means Green Gift in English.
The name of Cadeau Vert reflects the gift Greenery that we have been gifted on Earth as recounted in the Book of Genesis. We can cherish it, protect it, and teach the next generation to do as well.
